What exactly is an instance?

An instance is a connection from a phone number with a WhatsApp account, responsible for sending and receiving messages. You can create multiple instances so that you can have several WhatsApp numbers connected to your account. Technically speaking, an instance is nothing more than a virtual machine (or container) within our server infrastructure, dedicated to providing an environment for your number’s connection. Each instance only has one number — if you need to connect more numbers, you will need to create more instances. However, an instance is not locked to a single number. You can disconnect one number and connect another to the same instance. To help you understand how Z-API works, our service runs based on WhatsApp Web, and we abstract the methods allowing you to interact via RESTful API.
Fun factEvery time you create an instance, our FlyBots — responsible for orchestrating all our DevOps — start the process of creating a container with the Z-API Stack on Oracle Cloud.Yes! All our services are national and run on Oracle Cloud.
